COMMENTS
|
Odéon Orange Label with black print. The so-called "sandwiches" of EP Odéon SOE 3739 is undoubtedly the flagship of the French discography of the Beatles. The photo on the front cover is backwards. It was taken by Dezo Hoffman at the end of January 1964. (See Photo -->Click!) They shot a photographic session in a studio with the Beatles wearing a typical French hat eating a baguette sandwich (i.e. Napoleon’s cocked hat, a cop’s kepi and a Basque beret). The disc is available in two colors: dark blue and orange. On the dark blue label, to the left of the center, the initials "D.R." Exclusive features of the SOE 3739 (the other EP's will bear the initials BIEM instead). DILLARD et Cie, lmp. Paris: Printing company located in Paris, France, headed by Michel Dillard (an old publisher from La Sirène éditions musicales). Often appears on releases as "Dillard et Cie. Imp. Paris" or "Dillard & Cie, Imp. Paris". |
