COMMENTS
|
The earliest Odeon
label style has ODÉON in large letters across the top of the
label. Before some time in early 1964, the labels were dark
blue in color, but for most of the mid 60's they were
orange. France "chansons du film Help!" 1st. pressing original Beatles MONO LP (Odéon OSX 230) with dark blue labels and original flipback sleeve. Help! (OSX 230) exists on dark blue (1st. press) and orange (2nd. press) labels. |

COMMENTS
|
In January of 1966,
Odeon replaced their earlier label with a red label and
their logo with a logo that more closely resembled the logos
used in other countries. The red label appears on all Odeon
releases of the time, but when France took up the EEC
numbering in 1969, they stopped using the original catalog
numbers on Beatles releases. In the center shows the text "VERSINDEX BREVETE' S.G.D.G." on the back cover. Original French order tag at the top of the back cover. Red-label copies of LSO 101 through LSO 105 exist with either (S) in a circle or S by itself on the label. Pathé Marconi EMI: French record company active between 1972-1990. Before 1972, Pathé Marconi EMI was known as Les Industries Musicales Et Electriques Pathé Marconi. Around 1986 it was renamed to EMI Pathé Marconi (EMI Pathé Marconi S.A.) The company was responsible for the EMI Group labels La Voix De Son Maître (His Master's Voice), Pathé, EMI Columbia, Capitol Records, EMI, Odeon etc. in France. |
