COMMENTS | With just a few hundred
copies produced, this LP is one of their rarest and most sought
after European releases. This 1st pressing copy was manufactured in 1965 by the German Book Club (Deutsch Buch Gemeinschaft). Distributed only to members of German book club "Deutsche Buch Gemeinschaft" and was not avialable at record stores. It features some of The Beatles' greatest hits from 1963-1964 in a mixture of true and re-processed stereo. The disc bears orange "Impression" Odeon labels with the catalogue number: 6086. Machine stamped matrix numbers: Side-1: 12PAL 3152 SM-1 Side-2: 12PAL 3153 SM-1 Housed in its orginal soft, unlaminated German-printed cover. (*) Deutsche Buch Gemeinschaft; The club was founded in 1924 in Berlin, Germany, focused on books. After WWII the club went to Darmstadt, Germany. In 1970 50% was sold to Bertelsmann AG, which acquired the rest in 1988. (**)GEMA (Gesellschaft für musikalische Aufführungs- und mechanische Vervielfältigungsrechte.) was started in 1915 and handles the copyright in Germany. |
