Green label and Odeon
logo mark in white was printed above the center hole. "MADE IN GERMANY (circuler)" and 45 in a triangle were printed at the bottom of the label. In fall (maybe August), 1966, the rim print was changed on all Odeon releases to read: URHEBER- UND LEISTUNGSSCHUTZRECHTE, BESONDERS VERVIELFÄLTIGUNG (AUSSER ZUM PERSÖNLICHEN GEBRAUCH), VERMIETUNG, AUFFÜHRUNG, SENDUNG, VORBEHALTEN Roughly speaking, this translates to: "Copyright and property rights, especially reproduction (except for personal use), rental, performance, and broadcasting, [are] reserved." Again for the benefit of those who do not read German, We will call this the "Urheber" issue. Singles made from 1967 to 1969 are of the "Urheber" label style. 1st. Press: SLEEVE: Airplane sleeve, Backside: first picture for "All You Need Is Love" LABEL: Green Odeon label, white logo and black print. Matrix on the left side, with time 2nd. Press: SLEEVE: Airplane sleeve, Backside: first picture for "Cliff Richard" LABEL: Green Odeon label, white logo and black print. Matrix on the left side, without time 3rd. Press: SLEEVE: Bar hocker sleeve LABEL: Green Odeon label, white logo and black print. Matrix on the right side 4th. Press: SLEEVE: Cab drivers sleeve, HELLO GOOD BYE LABEL: Green Odeon label, white logo and black print. Matrix on the right side 5th. Press: SLEEVE: Cab drivers sleeve, HELLO GOODBYE LABEL: Green Odeon label, white logo and black print. Matrix on the right side "GEMA**/BIEM***" :a marking that indicates what company is responsible for the copyright payments for the material released on the record to the proper publishers. It is important to remember that a record with the above-mentioned marking isn't necessarily made in Germany but which was intended for sale in Germany. |
