PROMOTIONAL album to celebrate 50 years of Abbey Road
studios. These were sent to a limited number of radio
stations as part of a promotional campaign to celebrate the
now legendary studios. The Beatles are represented on 3 tracks of the 24, with "She Loves You", George's "My Sweet Lord", and Paul's "Mull Of Kintyre". Plus as composers of two others. Many other artists are featured who have a strong connection to the studios including - The Hollies, Cliff Richard, Kate Bush and The Shadows to name a few. The label states PROMOTIONAL USE ONLY - NOT FOR SALE. These were never available for public sale, only for selected radio stations. The sleeve contains a potted history of the legendary studios, the track listing and an advert for a book called, "The Book of the Record of the Studio: Abbey Road" by Brian Southall. Published by Patrick Stephens Limited, price 6:95. |
