COMMENTS | Export
edition. These are regular U.K. albums with different labels from the U.K. domestic releases, perhaps the U.K. domestic labels were forbidden in some countries due to a record contract. For example, the Parlophone label was used instead of the Apple label on exporting "The Beatles", "Abbey Road" or "Let It Be" to those countries. The prefix was "P-PCS", "P" maybe for Parlophone. The Odeon label was an EMI subsidiary that pressed Beatles LP to be shipped out and distributed abroad. Mainly export for Malta, but also Portugal. It was only pressed in tiny quantity, probably only 200 copies. Stereo only. Sleeves were made by Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. with gold and red Odeon sticker on the back side. "Regd. Trade Mark of The Gramophone Co., Ltd." was printed under the Odeon logomark. Very first frontside laminated UK stereo cover without "printer & patents pending" text on the flip-back. "THE GRAMOPHONE CO. LTD. (capital letter)" was printed at the perimeter, and "MADE IN GT. BRITAIN" was printed at the bottom of the label. |
