First pressings from the U.K. and France had the words "NOTHING IS REAL" at the center of the front cover. U.S. and Japanese pressings did not.

 First Press:
This copy has dark green Apple labels, with the “Sold in U.K ...” statement at the top center and “(An E.M.I. Recording)” on the left.
The text “(An E.M.I. Recording)” was printed on two lines on the left side of the label. The left side also carried “33 1/3” and “Mfd. in U.K.” The recording year was printed with a small phonogram copyright symbol ℗.

Covers were manufactured by Garrod and Lofthouse.
The sleeve had three flipbacks and a laminated front.
The mono sleeves had PMC 7070 and "Also available on Stereo No. PCS 7070" in the upper right corner, with red lines above and below the notes on the back cover.
The early mono covers have no information on the flaps. Later mono sleeves have "Printed and made by Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. Patent No. 943,895" on the lower flap.
An illustrated Apple logo and the words "APPLE RECORDS" were printed at the bottom left of the back cover.

The records were housed in black inner sleeves with a die-cut circular opening on one side to expose the Apple label. These sleeves were most likely manufactured by Harrison & Sons.

The original LP release contained the Beatles tracks on Side 1 with a newly recorded orchestral score composed and arranged by George Martin on Side 2 of the disc.
