COMMENTS
|
First Press: Has dark green apple label, with "Sold in U.K ..." text located on top and "("An E.M.I. Recording")" text located on the left. Label have "("An E.M.I. Recording")" text on two lines. The left hand side of the label should only have "33 1/3", "Mfd. in U.K." Publishing year printed with small copyright symbol (p). Covers were manufactured by Garrod and Lofthouse. Housed in a tri-flipback printed cover (half laminated printed cover). The mono covers have PMC 7070 and "Also available on Stereo No. PCS 7070" in the upper right corner and red lines above and below rear sleeve note. The early mono covers have no information on the flaps. Later mono sleeves have "Printed and made by Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. Patent No. 943,895" on the lower flap. At the bottom left of the back cover, the old Apple mark, which looks like a drawing, and the word "APPLE RECORDS" was printed. The records were housed in black inner sleeves with a die-cut circular opening on one side to expose the Apple label. These sleeves were most likely manufactured by Harrison & Sons. The original LP release contained the Beatles tracks on side-1 with a newly recorded orchestral score composed and arranged by George Martin occupying side-2 of the disc. |
