COMMENTS

If I Fell was the
third song on the UK version of the "A Hard Day's Night"
album, which was released on 10th. July 1964. A rare U.K. single, with "Tell Me Why" on the side-2, was pressed in the U.K. by EMI and released on 16th. October 1964. It was made for export purposes, but a number of record dealers began shipping the disks back into the U.K. for resale. Then EMI were not keen to see one of their products sold for more than the standard price, so, they started to press a small quantity for sale in Britain. These copies had the words, "SOLD IN U.K. SUBJECT TO RESALE PRICE CONDITIONS. SEE PRICE LISTS(*)" stamped on them. A few hundred copies were released in the U.K. on 29th. January 1965. The catalogue number was Parlophone DP 562. (*)From January 1964 on all their labels EMI now included the words, "Sold in U.K. Subject to resale price conditions. See Price Lists" in the push-out center. |
