COMMENTS
|
Odeon of France began
to issue two-song singles on a regular basis beginning in
July, 1967. These singles were prefixed "FO". By April,
1968, France had become part of the European Economic
Community (EEC) numbering system. From that point on, all
singles, new and rerelease, would be issued with the new
numbers. In late 1968, all new Beatles releases switched to
the Apple label, while earlier records remained on Odeon. Lady Madonna France Sleeve was originally printed with The Lady Madonna title till the mistake was realized, then correctly printed without gTheh. gThe Lady Madonnah is the rarer title. Also some of the fronts have the stain glass colors reversed, orange and pink in opposite segments. There are also three variations in the advertisement on the back sleeve. Pathé Marconi: French vinyl pressing and tape manufacturing plant. Operating under this name from 1972 until February 1990. Previously operating as Pathé Marconi. IDN: French printing company. I.D.N. is an acronym standing for "Imprimerie Du Nord". Identified on most records with the sentence : "IDN made in France" or "I.D.N. made in France" B.I.E.M.: BIEM [Bureau International des Sociétés gérant les droits d'enregistrement et de reproduction mécanique] is an international organisation representing mechanical rights societies. |
