COMMENTS
|
Odeon of France began
to issue two-song singles on a regular basis beginning in
July, 1967. These singles were prefixed "FO". By April,
1968, France had become part of the European Economic
Community (EEC) numbering system. From that point on, all
singles, new and rerelease, would be issued with the new
numbers. In late 1968, all new Beatles releases switched to
the Apple label, while earlier records remained on Odeon. Hey Jude is even more diverse, as far as its variations are concerned. France, like other countries around the world, issued that single on its domestic label, Odeon (on the red label), and subsequently on Apple. The Odeon edition came with four different front cover variations, that all had to do with shading and colour reversions of the Odeon and EMI logos on the left, and the catalogue number on the right. All versions shared the same ad back. The first Apple edition was released with the old Odeon FO- number and later with a new Apple APF - number. Pathé Marconi: French vinyl pressing and tape manufacturing plant. Operating under this name from 1972 until February 1990. Previously operating as Pathé Marconi. S.I.A.T.: "Société Imprimerie Art et Techniques S.A.". French printing company. Established in the 1950s, registered 1 January 1957, deregistered 7 December 2005. B.I.E.M.: BIEM [Bureau International des Sociétés gérant les droits d'enregistrement et de reproduction mécanique] is an international organisation representing mechanical rights societies. |
