obi / EAS re-issue series of the Beatles Japanese LP
catalog. Issue n° 3 in the series, with UK flag obi. This release features the UK original cover for the first time. Three albums from "Please Please Me (EAS-80550)" to "Hard Day's Night (EAS-80552)", which had been sold in Japanese original covers and song order, were released in the UK version for the first time in Japan. Light green apple label. The words "MFD. BY TOSHIBA-EMI LTD. JAPAN" was printed at the bottom of the label. The obi: Country flag obi. This style Obi came into use in June 1976 to promote the EAS series of Beatles reissues. It is a wide Obi that has the flag of the country of the LP's origin at the top.
