COMMENTS
|
Capitol in the U.S.A.
compiled the Beatles Movie Medley in response to the proven
success of stringing hit songs together in 45 form, and to
promote their new concept compilation Reel Music. EMI was
reluctant to release it, considering it distasteful, but
reluctantly did so to avert the threat of imported copies
from the U.S.A. In an attempt to keep the same tempo,
running speeds had to be altered on some of the segments
with You've Got To Hide Your Love Away suffering the most
obviously. A-side contains excerpts from: Magical Mystery Tour, All You Need Is Love, You've Got To Hide Your Love Away, I Should Have Known Better, A Hard Day's Night, Ticket To Ride and Get Back. This first pressing appears on a standard EMI push out. Having reached 1982, we start to see the word Hiring in the rim-text. This single can also be found on an EMI solid centre from this time, also with Hiring rim-text. Top opening sleeves are printed on paper. These can be found sleeves with large thumb tabs and small thumb tabs. |
