The picture sleeve for the single contains a Henry Grossman
color portrait of the Beatles in their new psychedelic look.
"THE BEATLES" appears in white in stylized letters accross
the top of the photo. The song titles, the Capitol logo and
catalog number 2056 are below the group's name in pink.
A circled "PRINTED IN U.S.A." appears in white in the lower
right corner of the "I Am The Walrus" side of the sleeve.
The first pressings of the single have labels on both sides
listing "Maclen Music, Inc."
as the publisher.
After Capitol learned that the publishing fot the "Magical
Miatery Tour" songs, including "I Am The Walrus", had been
assigned to "Comet Music
Corporation", labels were revised to reflect the
proper publisher.
Nearly all of the Capitol Beatles' records were pressed by
Capitol on both the East Coast and the West Coast, but there
is a RCA Custom
label variation.
1) East Coast singles
pressed
with labels printed by Keystone Printed Specialities Co.,
Inc. of Scranton, Pennsylvania.
Picture sleeve: issued in straight cut top.
2) West Coast
singles pressed with labels printed by Bert-Co Enterprises
of Los Angeles, California.
Picture sleeve: issued tub cut.
3) RCA press
Label: Song titles was printed in very narrow and thin font.
Some of the later East Coast pressings and later West Coast
pressings with LA wide font label have "Comet" credit on the
"Hello Goobye" side.
