COMMENTS
|
Renewed interest in the
Beatles surfaced in the summer of 1978 with the
release of the film "Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band".
Capitol
responded by launching a campaign pushing the original
(Picture disc
record), which included a single pairing the title song
segued into
"With A Little Help From My Friends" with "A Day In The
Life".
Released on 14th. August 1978, the single's lukewarm
reception matched that of the movie.
Picture Sleeve: Capitol's yellow background picture sleeve,
features an
image of the album cover centered towards the bottom. The
top has the
group's name in blue inside a curving white banner. The song
title in
red.
The single has purple labels with silver print and the
Capitol dome logo.
There are three variations:
1) 2) L.A. and Jacksonville press:

labels were also used by Jacksonville.
3) The Winchester
