Odeon Green Label Type-3

The Label Code:
"LC" was introduced in 1977 by the IFPI (International Federation of Phonogram and Videogram Industries) in order to unmistakably identify the different record labels for rights purposes. The Label Code consists historically of 4 figures, presently being extended to 5 figures, preceded by LC and a dash (*) (e.g. LC-0193 = Electrola; LC-0233 = His Master's Voice).

"GEMA" logo was printed on both sides of the label.

The Odeon green label EP's appear in two different styles. The first of these styles features the following print around the rim of the label:

ÜBERSPIELUNG
ÖFFENTLICHE AUFFÜHRUNG UND RUNDFUNKSENDUNG UNTERSAGT

Records with "Alle" as the first word of the rim print were issued by German Odeon until mid-1966. EP's from 1964-1967 normally feature an LP-size label. Since this label is "too large" for the space alloted to it on a 45, the label is glued over the top of the EP's "ridges". Earlier EP's are found in mono. Later EP's appear in stereo, with "STEREO" in black on a white rectangle.

The second label style, in mid-1966, the rim print was changed on all Odeon releases to read:
URHEBER. UND LEISTUNGSSCHUTZRECHTE, BESONDERS VERVIELFÄLTIGUNG (AUSSER ZUM PERSONLICHEN GEBRAUCH), VERMIETUNG. AUFFÜHRUNG, SENDUNG, VORBEHALTEN
The only EP to have come out originally in the Urheber style is Magical Mystery Tour. The word "stereo" on this EP is not found on a white rectangle.

Druckhaus Maack KG:
German printing company, located in Lüdenscheid, that emerged from Carl v. d. Linnepe in 1972. Also appears as simply "Maack Lüdenscheid".
The company existed as Druckhaus Maack KG until 1987, as Druckhaus Maack GmbH & Co. KG between 1987 and 1993 and as Druckhaus Maack GmbH from 1993 on.
In October 2000 the company was sold to the TOPAC Multimedia Print GmbH, a subsidiary of Bertelsmann AG. The location was finally closed in 2003. (from Discogs)

"GEMA/BIEM" :a marking that indicates what company is responsible for the copyright payments for the material released on the record to the proper publishers. It is important to remember that a record with the above-mentioned marking isn't necessarily made in Germany but which was intended for sale in Germany.
