Red Parlophone label
with silver ink. This particular release might have been exported from India to be sold in Malaysia. The DPE xxx catalogue releases appear to have been releases specific to Indian market and beyond like Far East. This record was cut locally from UK-supplied tapes. Matrix numbers for these Beatles releases in India begin with 7XPEI.xxxx on 45's in the DPE range which seems to apply to India only releases, not India versions of UK 45's, they had 7XCE xxxxx matrix numbers. Probably, the I on 7XPEI stood for India. |

Black Parlophone label
with silver ink. In 1964 India had labels with gMade in Indiah at the bottom of the label, six ofclock. By fall 1964 they were issuing the gLimited Liabilityh rim print on black labels which had Made in India at 10 ofclock and the LL jargon at 2 ofclock. Sometime in 1965 the next version had black labels with gPrivateh in the message around the rim, at 2 ofclock, still with Made in India at 10 ofclock. So, some Beatles India Parlophone singles have up to 3 black label versions. |
