COMMENTS
A reissue of the 1976 release "In the Beginning 1961" (MPF-1024). The front cover design was changed, but the inside and back remained the same as the previous version.
This was the last analog LP released in Japan on the Polydor label.

Polydor Red label with black half-circle logo Type-4
The word "Stereo" and the catalog number are printed in the top right corner of the jacket.

The liner notes include a table with detailed recording info, said to come from the original recording sheets.

The tracklist of In the Beginning 1961 is the same as that of ”The Beatles' First (LPHM 46 432)", released by Polydor in Germany in April 1964.
But the version of "Sweet Georgia Brown" is not played by the Beatles, so only seven tracks include them.
