| COMMENTS | JAs part of a special
project celebrating the 20th anniversary of The Beatles'
debut, a 12-inch single featuring both versions of their
debut song "Love Me Do" — the Andy White version and the
Ringo Starr version — was released in 1982. The Japanese edition included an insert with the English lyrics and a Japanese translation by Yasumi Yamamoto. Toshiba had already begun use of the new EMI/Odeon label as early as 1976 on certain new releases not covered under the Apple label. By the early 1980's, the EMI/Odeon label had completely supplanted the Apple label on all Beatles releases. When the record label change, the EMI/Odeon logo also replaced the Apple logo on the front sleeves of all records. | ||||
