Black Parlophone label
with silver ink. Have a 4-pronged push-out center. The three-dimensional Parlophone logo was printed at the top of the label. "PRESSED FOR OR BY A REGISTERED USER" was printed at the perimeter. The only markings at all in the dead wax are the original matrix numbers (7XPEA 198 & 7XPEA 199). And of course no mother or stamper number. Which suggests (or does it?) that tapes were shipped out to EMI (South Africa) and they created their own stampers.

Black Parlophone label
with silver ink. Without the push-out center (Solid center). The three-dimensional Parlophone logo was printed at the top of the label. "PRESSED FOR OR BY A RESISTERED USER" was printed at the perimeter. The only markings at all in the dead wax are the original matrix numbers (7XPEA 198 / 1 & 7XPEA 199 B / NEW). And of course no mother or stamper number. Which suggests (or does it?) that tapes were shipped out to EMI (South Africa) and they created their own stampers. (*) EMI Brigadiers (legally "EMI-Brigadiers (Pty) Ltd.") was formed in early 1973 as a joint venture between EMI South Africa and local company Brigadiers. |
