There were two
80s Black Capitol rainbow band label variations. This one was pressed 1983-1985 at Capitol's Jacksonville plant as identified by a "O" in the matrix runout. Both sides stamped MASTERED BY CAPITOL. The label has a dull label finish and has the classic 1" diameter inner-ring notch that surrounds the spindle hole. |

with rim text inside colorband, design circa 1983, on dull
finish label stock. Issued in posterboard stock jacket, with Capitol "C" logo and EMI box logo, no Apple logo. Issued with clear rice paper inner sleeve. "Abbey Road (SO-383)" and "Hey Jude (SW-385)" switched to an SJ prefix during the rainbow label run. This version was pressed at Capitol's Jacksonville plant as identified by a wide hand etched '0' in A runout and a stamped '()' in the B runout. Unique identifier: Mastering engineer credit 'ML' in B runout. No sign of a mastering engineer in A runout. The Winchester matrix ID stamp —◁ is only visible on side A and has been scratched out. Remainder of runouts etched, "MASTERED BY CAPITOL" stamped, which may appear on only one side on some copies. 38mm pressing ring with 1/2" inner ring notch. Some copies pressed on translucent vinyl (when held up to bright light). With "Her Majesty" to Side-2.
