Parlophone label with silver print: the name "THE PARLOPHONE CO. LTD.(capital letter)" on the outer rim, and the "RECORDING FIRST PUBLISHED 1964" statement was added. The word "stereo", on upper right of the front cover, is medium size. Sleeves for "A Hard Day's Night (stereo)" did two Londonfs of printing house: Ernest J. Day & Co Ltd. and Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. This issue has a sleeve made by Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. Beginning in 1964, Parlophone (and all the other EMI companies) began printing a phrase in the centers of all their singles, EP's and LP's, which said: SOLD IN U.K. SUBJECT TO RESALE PRICE CONDITIONS, SEE PRICE LISTS. This notice appears on the labels of every UK market EMI product, from very early 1964, right through mid-1969. |

This merger meant yet another label change occurred and previous "Parlophone Co. Ltd." rims where replaced with the new "Gramophone" rims. It has been noted that there's a cutting error which is present on this LP; The drum crack that opens "Any Time At All" on the -2 cutting is partially missing at the very beginning. This may have been an error with the cutting tape or a mistake on the lathe it was cut with, but the song doesn't play as it normally should on any other matrix of this album. EMI quickly noticed this problem, stopped pressing with the -2 plates and reverted back to their -1 plates, a cutting which lasted all the way into the early 1970s on "Two Box EMI" pressings. For context, the only time these LPs ever come up for sale, they all have the same Side 2 Stamper, that being 1 AH. The 37th stamper from the very first mother, with either 2 MA or 34 OT as Side 1. From that, we can guess that only one stamper of the -2 Side 2 matrix had even been used before they were pulled from production again. |

On 1st July 1973, The Gramophone Company Limited was renamed to EMI Records Limited, and accordingly the start of the labels perimeter print was changed to gEMI RECORDS LTDch. However, this change was not always straightforward: we know that, for example, the album "Burn" released by Deep Purple on February 1974, still had the old perimeter print. In October 1980 the rim-text was again altered so that it started with gALL RIGHTS OF THE PRODUCERch. |

Housed in a scarce front laminated, twin-flipback "Garrod & Lofthouse" printed cover without a stereo front indicator with "Patent No. 943,895" printed along the lower flipback. As sales of mono albums had dropped significantly relative to stereo albums, EMI deleted mono records, where there was a stereo alternative, in mid-1969. So, the word "stereo", on upper right of the front cover, is erased.
