COMMENTS
The last album "Let It Be" was released as a boxed set.
All boxed type came with the "THE BEATLES GET BACK" photo book, and some boxed set came with an Apple promotional poster.
Three kind of cover were used for the boxed set, all of which were glossy and soft:
1) with the Parlophone logo at the lower center of the back cover, and under the logo, Apple's name was not credited.
2) with the Apple mark instead of Parlophone on the back cover. It was a "red apple". And under the Apple mark, "Apple Records" was credited.
3) the same design as the cover 2) , but the color of the apple on the back cover strangely changed to bluish Green.

meetback meet Some info on early 70s Beatles pressings, one plant was used at Hayes, Middlesex for most of the UK pressings, although in the early 70's there were a lot made by Pathe Marconi in France, under contract, while the UK plant was supposedly under refurbishment, or it may have been due to the oil crisis at the time.

COMMENTS
Has dark green apple label, without "Sold in U.K ..." text located on top.
The words "Made in France by Pathe Marconi" was printed around the label.
Stereo only.
Label have "(<<An E.M.I. Recording>>)" text on two lines. The left hand side of the label should only have "33 1/3", "Mfd. in U.K."
Symbol (P) and publishing year printed on the right.

Covers were manufactured by Garrod and Lofthouse.
Housed in full laminated printed cover.
On the UK version, the producer is credited as "Phil Spector" with lowercase letters, on the US version, it's written as "PHIL SPECTOR" in all capital letters.
In the "Thanks to ~" section below the photo, the name "Harold Seider*" is included on the US version, but it does not appear on the UK version.
Original box set LP sleeve had a Red Apple Logo on the reverse, replaced with the standard (strange) Green Apple for the later non box set.

"French contract Pressing" has two theories:
1) Parlophone ceased to release records (in the United Kingdom) in 1973 because of the oil crisis; the production was moved to France up to 1976: so, for example, there were no UK Beatles pressings (re-pressings) in 1974 and 1975.

2) The Hiatus at Hayes, caused by production issues ( a building closure ) and not as the oil crisis ( although the co-incidence is interesting ) as far as Beatles pressings were concerned was probably much shorter, end of 1973 through much of 1974.
At some point in the mid-1970s the EMI pressing plant at Hayes (just outside London) was closed for refurbishment and EMI contracted their Pathé Marconi subsidiary in France to press LP's for a short time.

These LP's were then put into U.K. sleeves and sold in the U.K.
The phrase "MADE IN FRANCE" were printed on the outer rim on the label.
