Parlophone label with silver print: the name "THE GRAMOPHONE CO. LTD.(capital letter)" on the outer rim, "SOLD IN U.K." text was removed from the label. Beginning in 1964, Parlophone (and all the other EMI companies) began printing a phrase in the centers of all their singles, EP's and LP's, which said: SOLD IN U.K. SUBJECT TO RESALE PRICE CONDITIONS, SEE PRICE LISTS. This notice appears on the labels of every UK market EMI product, from very early 1964, right through mid-1969. The stereo pressing have Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. or Ernest J.Day & Co. front laminated flipback cover with or without small gstereoh on the front side. Printer name credit: "Printed and made by Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. Patent pending PMC 7016 PCS 7016" Has a Period mark was added after the "PCS." of the catalogue number on both sides of the label. Black and silver
Parlophone label with white print Type-1: On 1st July 1965, EMI underwent a merger and each individual ceased to be a L.T.D. company and became a subsidialy of "The Gramophone Co. Ltd." which was owned by EMI. This merger meant yet another label change occurred and previous "Parlophone Co. Ltd." rims where replaced with the new "Gramophone" rims. Both Columbia and Parlophone changed their label design adding an EMI boxed logo (one EMI boxed logo label) at the bottom of the label, in 1969: this design with silver text on black background was used from the end of 1969 and the beginning of 1971: In early 1971, Columbia and Parlophone added another EMI logo (two EMI boxed logo label) at the top of the label: this two EMI boxed logo design lasted for many years: That is as to say that all the Beatles albums were re-pressed on two EMI boxed logos label with the start of the label perimeter print as gTHE GRAMOPHONE CO LTDc: well: it seems to me that between 1971 and 1973 was reissued the entire Beatles catalog. On 1st July 1973, The Gramophone Company Limited was renamed to EMI Records Limited, and accordingly the start of the labels perimeter print was changed to gEMI RECORDS LTDch. However, this change was not always straightforward: we know that, for example, the album "Burn" released by Deep Purple on February 1974, still had the old perimeter print. In October 1980 the rim-text was again altered so that it started with gALL RIGHTS OF THE PRODUCERch.. The stereo pressing have Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. or Ernest J.Day & Co. front laminated flipback cover with or without small gstereoh on the front side. Printer name credit: "Printed and made by Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. Patent No. 943.895 PMC 7016 PCS 7016" Has a Period mark was added after the "PCS." of the catalogue number on both sides of the label. This stereo versions of "She Loves You" have been created from the mono versions, because original master tapes are lost. |

Black and Silver
Parlophone label without white ink, 2 EMI
marks. On 1st July 1965, EMI underwent a merger and each individual ceased to be a L.T.D. company and became a subsidialy of "The Gramophone Co. CBS Contract Pressing (maybe). Has a Period mark was added after the "PCS." of the catalogue number on both sides of the label. There's NO "Made In Gt. Britain" credit at 6 o' clock on the label. Deadwax marks are: Side 1: 3 o'clock: UK style machine stamped matrix number YEX 619-1G half past 4 o'clock: hand-etched "PCS-7016-A" 6 o'clock: CA 1 (machine stamped) 9 o'clock: E1 (machine stamped) Side 2: 12 o'clock: UK style machine stamped matrix number YEX 620-1G 3 o'clock: CA 1 (machine stamped) 6 o'clock: E1 (machine stamped) 10 o'clock: Hand etched "PCS-7016-B" The stereo pressing have Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. or Ernest J.Day & Co. front laminated flipback cover with or without small gstereoh on the front side. Printer name credit: "Printed and made by Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. Patent No. 943.895 PMC 7016 PCS 7016" This stereo versions of "She Loves You" have been created from the mono versions, because original master tapes are lost. |
