COMMENTS
Limited edition picture record.
Issued Feb. 1979 in die-cut, psychedelic jacket.
Same cover and disc design as ABBEY ROAD U.S. picture record.
The Abbey Road picture disc has an image of the album's front cover on side-1 and an image of the back cover without the text on side-2.
It was packaged in a die-cut psychedelic-patterned multi-colored cover with a large open hole on the front that exposed the picture disc.
The back cover has the same psychedelic pattern as the front, with the song titles centered in black print running top to bottom.

During the picture disc craze of the late 1970s, two Beatles LPs were officially released in that format – Sgt. Pepper and Abbey Road.  Capitol overpressed the Sgt. Pepper LP, and it became difficult to sell.  As a result, the later release of Abbey Road. sold in significantly fewer numbers, as many retailers didn’t bother to stock it, fearing that it wouldn’t sell.
Both titles were also released in Japan, and the Japanese pressings are much harder to find than their American counterparts, particularly so for Abbey Road.

Song order on back cover is finally correct (Something / Maxwell's Silver Hummer).
"JAPAN MUSICOLOR CO. LTD. PAT 634573" credit and JASRAC logo were printed on the label of side-2.
