1976 "Country Flag"
obi / EAS re-issue series of the Beatles Japanese LP
catalog. Issue n° 26 in the series, with Japanese flag obi. Light green apple label. The words "MFD. BY TOSHIBA-EMI LTD. JAPAN" was printed at the bottom of the label. This is the first album released in Japan. The Japanese version looks similar to the U.S. version but has a different track listing, a red and orange (rather than brown and blue) front cover title, and a different back cover. The obi: Country flag obi. This style Obi came into use in June 1976 to promote the EAS series of Beatles reissues. It is a wide Obi that has the flag of the country of the LP's origin at the top.
