1976 "Country Flag"
obi / EAS re-issue series of the Beatles Japanese LP
catalog. Issue n° 13 in the series, with UK flag obi. Apple Light green apple label type-2-2'. The first pressing of the Japanese version was a box set, just like the UK version. It was released on 5th June, 1970. The second pressing was released on February 25th 1971. The record number has changed to AP-80189. In 1973, the Cover Jacket has been changed from a thin sleeve to a sleeve made of thick paper, because it uses thick paper, it is an inner binding type with the glue margin inside. The jacket has been changed to a gatefold jacket, like the US version. The obi: Country flag obi. This style Obi came into use in June 1976 to promote the EAS series of Beatles reissues. It is a wide Obi that has the flag of the country of the LP's origin at the top. The LP's series number is located on the Apple logo and at an angle at the bottom. Has a red background.
