Nimbus Supercut LPs were offered exclusively by mail order to readers of Practical Hi-Fi and Hi-Fi Today during the early 1980s. Production quantities are generally reported to have been around 1,000 copies per title. Small production runs may have helped maintain pressing quality by limiting the effects of stamper wear, although this remains an inference rather than a confirmed Nimbus policy. The series aimed to offer high-quality reissues and is now sought after by collectors.
