Apple Label Original Series Debut 20th Anniversary: Picture Disc [1982#2-1990] |
1982#3 > | |
Early in 1982 Johnny Dean, editor of The Beatles Monthly Book, wrote an open letter to EMI asking them to mark the 20th anniversary of Love Me Do with a commemorative reissue. At that point EMI had no intention of doing so. However, they decided to do exactly that and began promoting the 20th anniversary reissue of every Beatles single, starting with Love Me Do on 4th Oct 1982 and culminating with Let It Be on 5th March 1990. Along with the standard black vinyl single was a picture disc , and a few 12" singles. Also, at the beginning of this campaign, a new singles box set was produced. |
