Trio Records, a Japanese
record company, released five Beatles-related albums in
the early 1980s. These were special releases that included
interviews, live recordings, and rare or unreleased
tracks. The lineup was different from the official
releases by Toshiba EMI (Odeon). The records were made for collectors, with features like colored vinyl, limited edition numbers and obi strips. Trio also released Silver Beatles, the first LP in Japan to include the Decca audition tape. This LP was the last Beatles-related release from Trio. After that, similar records with interviews and unofficial material were released by Teichiku. Trio Records ended its record business in 1984. |
